Great for a single woman fun safe way to travel and be with interesting folks. Love history so the speaker are always a hit for me. There wasn't a single aspect of my cruise on the lower Mississippi River that I would change.

When rains were encounted umbrellas were made available. Ship was always docked close to bus pick-up and transport to site of interest. American Glory has 56 cabins outside facing cabins, the majority with balconies, spanning six categories and located over four decks. They start at 230 square feet, for lower deck cabins with fixed windows and single cabins with balconies. The largest staterooms are the pair of Grand Suites on Deck 4 which are 550 square feet and have a separate bedroom and living room and private dining on the balcony.

Activities and lectures are as rich in history and culture as the ports themselves. American Harmony doesn't cater to families with children specifically, and no special areas for kids or teenagers are available onboard. A handful of children might be seen on summer or holiday sailings but, by-and-large, this is a cruise experience geared towards mature adults. The guides at the two Civil War battlefields we visited were beyond excellent. The room was great, quiet, private, with our own lttle balcony. You only pack or unpack at the very beginning of the week or at the very end. Staff on our floor were very accommodating, as was pretty much all crew, guides and bus drivers.Food was prepared well, portions reasonable and options for a half-order or changes to the menu on the fly. So nice not to worry about preparing the next meal, like at home!
Outstanding for me was the employees on the cruise. They were helpful, available, and most important kind to everyone. I would grade the staff above average in every respect.
All personnel were polite and responsive to issues/questions. Room temperature of the meeting room required coat for comfort. On board information was posted daily as well as communicated over the speaker system.
